Mats Toftenes
A big part of inventing Matsicano® and the first to run nights with its rules.

In Vollen, just outside Oslo, a group of padel players kept running into the same problem: the format ended before the court booking did. Forty minutes left, nothing meaningful to play.
Mats Toftenes was a big part of coming up with the answer and began running nights with the new rules. The format fills exactly the time on court and still mixes everyone up. It carries his name: Matsicano®.

Scoring a busy night in Google Sheets on a phone reached breaking point for Simon Walker. He built a simple local web page to handle mid-match scoring. It grew into a full platform with live scoring, standings and stats to keep any padel player happy.
Fittingly, “Si” sits right in the middle of Matsicano®.
On club nights we still keep it simple: a cheap projector, a laptop, and the live standings on the wall.
A local fix in Vollen to end the dead time at the end of court bookings.
65 players, three nights a week, a season table that rewards turning up.
Mats and Simon turn the local solution into a company and an end-to-end platform.
Vamoset for iPhone, in eight languages.
2,839 matches and 20,400 minutes of padel, with 6 men's and women's season series at 2 clubs. Now we want to grow it.

Gave up on spreadsheets and built the scoring page that became Vamoset.

We built it so the energy stays on the court, not in the logistics. Come and play.
